Central Coast Dreamer
The Eco-Luxury Surf Experience
OK, whether or not you've been to Costa Rica before, this trip will wow you... this trip packs an eco-luxury experience smack dab in the middle of two popular surf
spots.
First and foremost, you're going to some great surfing destinations. Jaco, Hermosa, Dominical. But you'll also be going to a relatively unknown area called Playa
Palo Seco, north of Manuel Antonio by about 15 miles. Isla Palo Seco is bordered by a mangrove estuary and an incredible eco-luxurious hotel called The
Timarai Bamboo Resort.
So while this trip carves out some serious surfing, it's also a touch on the luxurious side! Come see the central coast of Costa Rica!

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1-2
Jump
off the plane and strap into your Tucson 4x4, it's time for a fast drive to your first surfing location! Down the mountain and to Jaco/Hermosa beach you go. Playa
Hermosa and nearby Jaco is the definitive surf mecca of
the central Pacific coast. Dozens of breaks, including Boca Barranca, Playa Jaco, Playa Hermosa, Esterillos and Bejuco.
For this region you'll be staying at the Backyard Hotel, which is right on Playa Hermosa beach.
Only an 8 room hotel that includes all the amenities like a/c, tv, great views, comfortable beds and great views. A nice pool and deck area sits on the beach along
with their beachfront restaurant and bar.
Day 3-4
Now it's time to drive
south, and slow down just a touch. A few hours of mellow coastal driving and onto the Isla Palo Seco and the eco-luxury resort of Timarai
Bamboo Resort.
This is a "100 % ecologically
friendly" resort; the structure of each of the rooms and bungalows in Timarai is built primarily of Guadua Bambusa Angustifolia (one of the many
species of bamboo), and covered in Timagua (a stucco-like mud) in countless textures, colors, and curves which will make you feel comfortable and relaxed
in a natural environment.
Now you're thinking, "MUD HUTS?" NO, let's just say these are not your traditional tribe yurts - they're two story bungalows with an emphasis
on tranquility and beauty. Eco-Luxurious? YOU BET. This is a great up and coming resort we're proud to offer in our growing list of hotels.
All this and close to the surf! Can't get better than that.
Day 5-7
Time to leave this slice of paradise to another part of heaven! South you go to Dominical, an area geared towards serious
surfers looking for a more relaxed, tropical atmosphere than the northern central areas.
You'll stay at the Villas Rio Mar, situated on the banks of the Baru river only 500 meters from the beach and surrounded
by impressive tropical forests. Closeby is Playa Dominical, a strong break with lefts and rights. Consistent year-round. The northern end of the beach offers bigger
sets while the southern end is better for intermediate surfers.
This
jungle resort offers a relaxing environment with 1st class hospitality. The resort consists of 40 thatched roof bungalows with open terrace like living rooms, king
size beds, private baths with hot water, safety deposit box, fans, mini bar, and hammock.
Day 8
Alas, you must journey up the mountain and return to San José.
Consider extending your stay in San Jose and see some of the sights!
