Terms, Conditions and Cancellations
Deposit and balance of payment
The payment is due four weeks prior to arrival date. In the event of a reservation received after 30 days prior to arrival date, full payment should be sent as soon as your request is confirmed. Certain hotels may require additional deposits to guarantee space, especially during the high season.
Surf Costa Rica will advice you if any additional amount is required. Important: a copy of the deposit must be sent by email or fax so that we know the deposit has been made.
Cancellations and refunds
Cancellations must be received in writing a minimum of 30 days prior to arrival. In such cases, the deposit will be refunded, less a handling charge of US $ 100 and the guarantee deposits to hotels and tour coordinators. Surf Costa Rica is not responsible for non-recoverable expenses incurred by trip members in preparing for a cancelled trip, such as non-refundable advance purchase hotel, transfers, tours, etc., nor for any necessary additional arrangements should the applicant have embarked prior to the departure date. The following conditions apply to cancellations received after making the balance of payment:
- 20 days prior to arrival, 30 % of the total amount is subject to forfeiture
- 19 to 11 days prior to arrival, 50 % of the total amount is subject to forfeiture
- 10 days prior to arrival, 100% of the total amount is subject to forfeiture
Certain hotels may have more strict cancellation and refund policies. These vary according to each hotel and depending on each circumstance.
Surf Costa Rica highly recommends purchasing trip cancellation insurance.
Early reservations are recommended in order to guarantee your accommodations. During the high season (November to April and months of July and August), Surf Costa Rica suggests that reservations be made at least six to three months in advance in order to confirm space. All the reservations must be sent in writing via e-mail or fax with all the specifications of your request.
