Accommodation

We present to you several recommended properties to make your decision a little easier when looking for a place to stay for your surf trip. All of the featured hotels have proven themselves to be outstanding options in quality and service for previous clients and therefore, we highly recommend that you take a look. Some are small and remote, others are luxurious and offer all the amenities. These are all the hotels we use in our surfing packages as well.

These hotels are located next to some of the finest surfing beaches in the world. Often they are mere meters from the beach, offering ‘out the front door’ surfing. Fun nightlife, great happy hours, and a surfer atmosphere are the dominant tones. These are not beach shacks! In fact, some of the hotels below are very upscale. Although the list of hotels is by no means a complete list of hotels in Costa Rica, we have hand-selected some of the better hotels, particularly with surfing in mind.

Hotel Pricing

$ = $75~100
These hotels are usually just about the cheapest accommodations you can get. Often, these hotels sprang up around ideal surfing locations, and exist for the surfer crowd. They are not just small shacks on the beach with no running water. Some have group accommodations available, allowing you to share the financial burden. See Single/Double/Triple/Quad below. Particularly remote locations might be a touch nicer to bring you out into the boonies.

$$ = $100~150
Moderate accommodations with a small number of amenities; usually a pool, perhaps a bar and close to local nightlife, if there is any.

$$$ = $150~$250
Now you’re getting into the truly luxurious hotels, with manicured gardens and a list of local activities, amenities, and grub zones.

$$$$ = $250 +
Whoa. Ultimate accommodations with large rooms, all-inclusive resorts with food included, etc. They are usually more secluded and ‘refined’, if that’s your thing. Many attach unlimited usages, like spa treatments or adventure tours.

$$$$$
Man, if you have to ask, you’re probably not goin’. These are either single homes in remote locations backdropped by jungle heaven, or very, very high-end locations. If you’re even looking at these places, you’re probably some corp. exec. who runs their own company by now but surfed their entire life. You probably have 6 boards, too. We salute you, BTW.
